Why I started cycler Guide

Why I Started Cycler Guide (And Why You Can Trust What You Read Here)

If you’ve ever searched for answers about bikes, you’ve probably noticed something.

One website recommends one bike. Another says the complete opposite. One article is clearly written by someone who has never ridden the bike, while another repeats the same information you’ll find on dozens of other sites.

That’s exactly why I created Cycler Guide.

My name is Md. Sajib Ahmed, and I’m a blogger who has been cycling since 2009 (Maybe I was in class 5). What started as a simple way to get around eventually became a long-term hobby and a passion that has stayed with me for well over a decade.

Over the years, cycling has taught me far more than how to ride a bike. It has taught me how different bikes perform in different situations, how frustrating constant mechanical issues can be, why buying the wrong bike often costs more than buying the right one, and how small maintenance habits can make a bike last for years.

I’m not here to pretend I know everything.

I’m simply someone who has spent years riding, researching, comparing, maintaining, and learning from both good and bad experiences—and I built this website to share those lessons with other riders.

My Journey Into Cycling

I started cycling back in 2009.

Like many people, I wasn’t thinking about components, drivetrains, wheel sizes, geometry, or suspension. I just wanted a bike that worked.

As the years passed, cycling became much more than transportation.

I began learning how different bikes are built, why one bike feels completely different from another, how proper maintenance affects performance, and why choosing the right bike depends more on your riding style than on the price tag.

Along the way, I made plenty of mistakes.

I’ve purchased accessories that weren’t worth the money.

I’ve dealt with annoying mechanical problems.

I’ve spent hours researching upgrades that didn’t actually improve the ride.

I’ve learned that marketing doesn’t always match reality.

Those experiences have become the foundation of everything I publish on Cycler Guide.

What I Know and What I Don’t

After cycling for more than 15 years, I’ve developed practical knowledge across many areas of cycling.

I regularly research and write about topics such as:

  • Choosing the right bike for different riders
  • Mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrid bikes, gravel bikes, BMX bikes, commuter bikes, and electric bikes
  • Bike maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Common cycling problems and their solutions
  • Bike accessories and cycling gear
  • Buying guides for beginners
  • Bike comparisons
  • Product recommendations
  • Cycling safety
  • Riding techniques
  • Upgrades that actually make a difference
  • Understanding bike components and compatibility

Everything published here is based on a combination of long-term riding experience, extensive research, manufacturer information, real rider feedback, and careful product evaluation.

At the same time, I believe honesty builds trust.

If a topic requires specialized expertise beyond my personal experience, such as professional racing, advanced bicycle engineering, or medical advice, I rely on reliable sources, industry documentation, and expert references rather than pretending to know everything.

My goal isn’t to sound like the smartest person in the room.

My goal is to give you information that’s accurate, practical, and genuinely useful.

The Gap I Kept Seeing

After years of reading bike websites, watching reviews, and researching products, I noticed a recurring problem.

Too many cycling websites are built for search engines instead of riders.

Many reviews are clearly based on manufacturer specifications rather than real analysis.

Some buying guides recommend expensive products without explaining who they’re actually for.

Others copy information from one another until every article sounds exactly the same.

For beginners, this creates confusion.

Questions like these often don’t receive clear answers:

  • Which bike is actually right for me?
  • Do I really need to spend more?
  • Why is my bike making this noise?
  • Which upgrade is worth buying first?
  • Is this accessory actually useful?
  • How do I solve this problem without wasting money?

I wanted a website that answered these questions in plain English.

No unnecessary jargon.

No clickbait.

No recommendations just because a product costs more.

Just practical advice that helps people make better decisions.

What Cycler Guide Is Built To Do

Cycler Guide exists to make cycling simpler.

Every article aims to answer real questions that cyclists ask before buying a bike, while riding, or when something goes wrong.

Whenever possible, I focus on explaining not only what to do, but also why it matters.

Rather than filling articles with unnecessary words, I try to make every guide straightforward, practical, and easy to follow.

If I recommend a product, I want readers to understand why it deserves that recommendation, who it’s best for, and when they should avoid buying it.

If I write a troubleshooting guide, I want readers to leave with an actual solution, not just a list of possible causes.

That’s the standard I want every article on this website to meet.

What You’ll Find On This Website

Cycler Guide is built primarily for cyclists in the United States, whether you’re buying your very first bike or you’ve been riding for years.

The company is based in Utah, and while cycling is universal, many of our recommendations are made with the American market in mind, including product availability, pricing, brands, and riding conditions.

Here you’ll find content covering topics like:

  • Bike buying guides
  • Best bike recommendations
  • Product comparisons
  • Bike maintenance guides
  • Common cycling problems and fixes

New articles will continue to be added regularly as the library grows.

Thanks for Being Here

Cycler Guide started with one simple idea:

Create the kind of cycling resource I wish had existed when I first started riding.

If an article here helps you choose the right bike, solve a frustrating problem, avoid wasting money, or simply enjoy cycling a little more, then this website is doing exactly what it was created to do.

Thanks for stopping by.

I hope Cycler Guide becomes one of the resources you trust whenever you have a cycling question.

Ride safe, keep learning, and enjoy every mile.
